Backstory: She was a long time veteran of being a student with below average grades and having a borderline obsession with beauty and popularity; That was Minako -- and honestly, that probably still is Minako -- though things eventually became quite a bit more complicated than worrying about being chronically late to school in the morning.
During one of her "perfect" gymnastics landings, Minako stumbled and fell over a cat named Artemis. He later showed himself at a particularly poorly chosen time in her bathroom and, after several minor injuries due to flying objects, revealed to Minako that she had magical potential. With the assistance of items provided by Artemis, she could mask her identity with illusions and harness golden beams of searing light. These abilities were soon needed to fight the monstrous beings that had been infesting the area, masking themselves as humans, and siphoning energy from their victims for an unknown purpose. Though she sometimes wound up killing former friends or those she had once admired, she always seemed to stay carefree most of the time.
After learning to deal with pain and loss, unfortunately, it didn't seem that Minako had learned much else about the role Artemis wanted her to play in the world. "The enemy" had been beaten back to an indefinite hiatus, so he decided it was time Minako learned to ride without training wheels; He returned Minako's new magical toys to wherever he had summoned them from. It was magical itself that Minako's parents could believe she had been sought out by a prestigious American school, but Minako had a good idea that it had nothing to do with stellar academic performance.
Class Schedule:
Potions - At least they'll teach love potions, maybe?
The Study of Magical Beasts - I already own one, so this doesn't sound hard.
Elemental/Nature Magic - Maybe they'll teach us how to make it warmer around here.
Latin - They call it a "romance" language, it can't be too boring.
Magical Safety - Artemis seemed to think this was a great idea.
Health/Sex Education - ...ehehehe, well, good things to know... Hoping for more sports than books.
Drama - My natural star actress ability has a chance to shine.
